This Privacy Policy describes how Gorilla collects, uses, and protects your information.

1. Information We Collect

• Configuration Data (App & Wrappers): The Gorilla app and spawned YouTube wrappers store your app configuration locally on your device, including selected channels, parental control settings, and preferences. This data does not leave your device unless you explicitly sync or export it. We collect zero tracking data within the app or wrappers.
• YouTube API Data: When you search for or view content, Gorilla communicates with YouTube's APIs. YouTube may collect information about your searches and viewing activity according to their own policies.
• Website Analytics (Public Website Only): Our public website (gorilla.tube) uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with the site. This analytics tracking applies only to our public marketing website and documentation, not to the Gorilla app or spawned YouTube wrappers. See Section 5 below for details.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the Gorilla service
• To enforce our Terms of Service and other legal agreements

3. Data Storage and Security

• Most of your data is stored locally on your device. Gorilla does not maintain centralized servers that store your personal information.
• If you export or sync your configuration, you are responsible for securing that data.
• We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, but no method is 100% secure.

4. YouTube and Google Data Handling

• Gorilla does not control how YouTube or Google handles data. When you search for or watch content through Gorilla, YouTube and Google may collect and process your data according to their own privacy policies.
• Visit Google's Privacy Policy and YouTube's Terms for information on their data collection practices.
• You can manage your YouTube account and privacy settings at myaccount.google.com.

5. Third-Party Services and Analytics

• YouTube Data API: Gorilla uses the YouTube Data API to access YouTube content. Your data may be transmitted to Google's servers as part of API calls. YouTube and Google collect data according to their own privacy policies.
• Google Analytics (Website Only): Our public website uses Google Analytics to collect aggregated, anonymized data about visitor interactions (page views, click behavior, device type, etc.). This helps us understand our audience and improve our marketing website. Google Analytics applies only to our public website and does not track activity within the Gorilla app or spawned YouTube wrappers.
• No Tracking in App or Wrappers: The Gorilla app and YouTube wrappers you spawn contain zero tracking cookies, analytics, or telemetry. Any data collection in these contexts comes solely from YouTube or Google when you play videos.
• We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services beyond what we control.

6. Children's Privacy

• Gorilla is designed to be a safe alternative for children, but parents and guardians remain responsible for monitoring their children's online activity.
• Parents should review YouTube's policies on children's data, as Gorilla accesses YouTube content.
• We recommend setting up parental controls within Gorilla and on your device.

7. Your Rights and Choices

• You can delete your Gorilla configuration at any time by clearing your device's local storage.
• For YouTube and Google data, visit your Google Account settings to manage your data preferences.
• You have the right to request information about what data we hold, though most data is stored locally on your device.
